Two-man delivery: common questions
When do I need two-man delivery?
When one person can't carry the item safely: anything much over 25 to 30 kg, longer than about 1.8 metres, or going up stairs. Sofas, wardrobes, American fridge-freezers and gym equipment all need two people. Our guide on two-man delivery versus a man and van has the full rules.
How much extra is the second person?
There's no separate call-out fee. Items in the larger size bands are priced with two-person handling included, so you pay one figure for the job. Compare the medium and large rows in the typical prices above to see the difference.
Will the crew carry it upstairs?
Yes. That's the point of a two-person crew. Say which floor and whether there's a lift when you book, and the crew plans the carry before they arrive rather than on the doorstep.
Is two-man delivery the same as a man and van?
No. A man and van is one driver, which is right for boxes and small furniture. Two-man delivery sends two trained people with the right van and kit for items one person can't move safely. Choose the item size honestly and the right crew is sent.
