Driver Agreement
This agreement sets out what DropNPickUp expects of every driver, and what you can expect from us, when you accept and run jobs through the platform. It is in addition to our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.
Last updated: 4 July 2026
1. Your status
You provide delivery services as an independent, self-employed contractor — not an employee or worker of DropNPickUp Logistics Ltd. You are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance, your vehicle, and running your own business. You decide which jobs to accept; nothing in this agreement creates an obligation to be available.
2. Reliability & what we expect
When you accept a job you are committing to collect and deliver it on time and in good condition. We measure reliability across completed jobs, skips, late cancellations and no-shows, and use it to decide your visibility tier — the order in which jobs are offered to drivers. Repeatedly cancelling accepted jobs, failing to show, or abandoning loads lowers your reliability and can reduce the work you see, and in serious cases lead to suspension under the Acceptable Use Policy.
3. If you break down or can't continue
If, after accepting a job, you cannot continue it — a breakdown, accident, illness, or other genuine reason — you must:
- report it immediatelyusing the “Can’t continue” option on the job screen, giving the reason, a photo, and your location;
- keep the goods safe and secure and stay with them where it is safe to do so until a replacement driver or our team arranges handover; and
- cooperate with the replacement driver and our support team.
We will arrange a replacement driver to complete the job. Failing to report promptly, or leaving goods unsecured, is a serious breach.
4. How you're paid if a job isn't finished
Pay depends on whether the goods had been collected and on the reason:
- Genuine, no-fault reason after collection(you had picked up and carried the goods part of the way): you are paid a fair share of the job’s driver payment based on the part of the route you completed, with a minimum amount so you are never left out of pocket for carrying the load. The replacement driver is paid for the remainder.
- Before collection (the goods had not been picked up): no payment is due for that job, even for a genuine breakdown, because nothing was carried. The job is simply re-listed.
- Day-rate / depot work: if a genuine reason ends your day part-way through, you are paid for the time worked, with a minimum of the half-day rate once you have started.
- Choosing to drop a job (you change your mind, take other work, or are no longer available): no payment is due, a reliability penalty applies, and an admin fee (shown at the time) may be charged.
A genuine breakdown carries no reliability penalty. We confirm the figures before any partial payment is released.
5. Recovering the cost of a replacement
Where you voluntarily abandon a job you have accepted and that leaves a load stranded, we may recover the reasonable cost of arranging a replacement driver and/or withhold payment for that job. This does not apply to genuine, reported, no-fault breakdowns.
6. Insurance, vehicle & breakdown cover
You must hold and maintain valid hire-and-reward motor insurance, goods-in-transit insurance, a valid licence and MOT, and keep your vehicle roadworthy and taxed, as set out in our Terms of Service. You are responsible for your own breakdown recovery. Goods remain your responsibility and must be kept insured and secure until they are delivered or handed over to a replacement driver.
7. Crew members you bring (white-glove)
On a white-glove job you may invite a second person — a crew member — to help lift, carry and place the goods. If you do:
- you are responsible for that crew member on the job, and you must ensure your own insurance permits and extends to a helper;
- the crew member works under your cover for that job and is, like you, independent and self-employed — DropNPickUp is neither their employer nor their insurer;
- they must be ID + DBS verified before they can be added, and the agreed share of the driver-side payment you set is paid to them directly.
The crew member’s own obligations are set out in our Terms of Service.
8. Day-rate / agency work
Some work is supplied on a day rate to client sites (for example depot shifts). Depending on your circumstances, day-rate engagements may have tax or employment-status implications (including the off-payroll/IR35 rules). You are responsible for your own tax position and should take your own advice; we will provide the information you reasonably need.
